March 24 - Darka for Trading & Services, the Sudanese member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC), recently handled the shipment and delivery of heavy machinery from Port Sudan to Abuhebeira in central Sudan.
The total shipment consisted of 563.33 cu m and 363 tonnes of heavy machinery and steel bars, which were discharged directly from a heavy lift vessel to heavy duty trucks and trailers.
Along the 1,150 km transit route various obstacles had to be overcome, amongst them refuelling the trucks at a petrol station, accommodating the largest piece of cargo within very small margins.
