October 29 - Damani Shipping has launched a new breakbulk service between the west coast of India and the Middle East Gulf.
The multipurpose breakbulk vessel, Grand Soar, which has been time chartered by Damani for six months, will be deployed on the new service, operating two sailings per month.
The liner service calls at the ports of Mumbai and Kandla (India), Sohar (Oman), Jebel Ali (UAE), Bandar Abbas (Iran), Damman (Saudi Arabia) and Kuwait, with a number of other ports served on an inducement basis.
Mitsu Damani of Damani Shipping explained to HLPFI that the decision to launch the new service was prompted by a number of large contracts awarded in the region.
