May 6 - Liebherr's offshore division has signed a contract with China's Dalian Shipyard to deliver two RL-K 4200-100 LIT luffing knuckle boom cranes capable of lifting 100 tonnes.
The new cranes will be used for pipe handling and support works on board a semi-submersible BT 400 drilling rig.
The cranes will be equipped with newly developed pipe and load manipulators called 'gripper yoke' and 'riser yoke'. The main feature of this load/crane interface is the ability to rotate the load by 360 degrees and tilt it by 10 degrees, explained Liebherr.
