March 21 - Dalian Kingdom Logistics Group - also known as Junde - has moved a 420-tonne cool box at a Dalian shipyard using 48 axle lines SPMTs from Tianjie Heavy Industries (THI).
A group of THI engineers helped Junde coordinate the movement of the 67.25 m x 10 m x 10.6 m cold box.
The SPMTs were used in a four-file combination and, since the cold box was cube shaped, it was easy to find its centre of gravity. The cold box was supported at four points and after loading the trailer configuration has a deformation of 30 mm, similar to calculated values said THI. No deformation was recorded at the joint area, THI added.
The over-dimensional unit was rotated by 90 degrees before being moved for approximately 500 m to its final position beneath a gantry crane.
