December 24 - Wagenborg Nedlift has transported eight crystallisers and other equipment for a new building project at the DSM site at Chemelot in Sittard-Geleen, the Netherlands.
The crystallisers, which each had a diameter of nearly 8 m, varied in length from 18.7 m to 19.5 m, and in weight from 55 tonnes to 62 tonnes.
In two shipments, all eight crystallisers were transported from the manufacturer in Genk, Belgium to the port of Urmond in the Netherlands, where they were unloaded using two of Wagenborg's mobile cranes.
After they had been unloaded, the cargo was parked in temporary storage for a short time allowing Wagenborg to plan the crossing of the highway, which had to be closed temporarily during the transport.
The crystallisers were then transported to Geleen on ten-axle modular trailers and delivered to another temporary storage site in Chemelot, where they are currently waiting until their foundations are ready for installation.
This was the first big project managed by Wagenborg's branch office at Chemelot Industrial Park, which was opened in 2012, said the company.
