September 19 - The recent signing of a new ten-year agreement between Associated British Ports (ABP) and TransAtlantic UK Ltd, which will result in the latter's relocation from the Port of Goole to a new bespoke ten-acre terminal in King George Dock, Hull
The two cranes are a Liebherr LHM 320 mobile harbour crane capable of lifting up to 100 tonnes and a Liebherr LHM 250 mobile harbour crane capable of lifting up to 64 tonnes.
At over 100 feet high and weighing in at around 600 tonnes, the cranes drew quite a crowd as they travelled under the Humber Bridge on a barge operated by Dutch-based Muller Dordrecht . The move required a planned clearance of three metres with the agreement of the Humber Bridge Board.
Matt Jukes , port director, ABP Hull & Goole said: "The cranes are now fully operational in their new home and will enable TransAtlantic UK Ltd to start handling vessels at its new terminal in Hull almost immediately."
