July 9 - Cosco Shipping Co.'s (Coscol) semi-submersible vessel XIANG RUI KOU has transported and installed an 18,500-tonne topside.
XIANG RUI KOU used its dynamic positioning system to guide the super heavy topside, which had the dimensions 171 m x 58 m x 118 m, next to the jacket on which it was to be placed.
Once in position, Coscol's vessel began ballasting and transferring the load onto the jacket, so that there was a safety clearance between the topside and lower support frame.
With the installation successfully completed XIANG RUI KOU moved away from the jacket, safely cleared from the topside.
