December 4 - Coordinadora has completed the second shipment of four modules, two weighing almost 1,000 tonnes, for the OPTARA oil refinery project in Antwerp.
The overall project consists of five shipments of 28 modules, totalling more than 85,000 cu m, over a period of six months, from Tarragona to Antwerp.
It was also claimed last week that the two modules in the second shipment will be the heaviest load ever to be handled by the Belgian gateway.
All the engineering analysis, design of the bracing and weight spreading devices, as well as fabrication and supply of the appropriate securing elements was carried out by Coordinadora's engineering department.
This complex project involves several companies: ALE-Aertssen for the inland transport; port agents TPS and Europe Cargo; and the shipping companies SAL and RollDock.
