December 12 - Coordinadora Internacional de Cargas has transported a 445-tonne reactor, with the dimensions 30.9 m x 5.6 m x 4.65 m, from Arles to the TOTAL refinery in Normandy, France.
On its journey from the manufacturer's premises to the port of Arles, the vehicle transporting the reactor had to pass under a bridge with only 10 cm of clearance, before negotiating a slope with a gradient of up to eight percent.
When the cargo reached the port, two crawler cranes worked in tandem to load the reactor onto a coaster vessel for its oncarriage, which required a ground pressure study to check the strength of the new port extension.
From Arles, the reactor was shipped to the Dresser berth at the port of Le Havre where, due to the narrow dimensions of the berth, the cargo had to be unloaded using just one crane.
Once unloaded the cargo was transported by road from Dresser to the DG05 project site at the TOTAL refinery using a 14 double axle SPMT vehicle.
