December 3 - Combi Lift has secured a contract to transport a 1,400-tonne subsea cable from Donghae, South Korea to Rotterdam, the Netherlands for the Westermost Rough offshore wind farm project.
The offshore wind project is situated approximately 4.5 nautical miles off the east coast of the UK, and will comprise of 35 turbines, each with a capacity of 6 MW.
The 13.7 km long cable will be spooled from the client's facility in Donghae via a gooseneck tower on to a carousel in the hold of the multipurpose vessel, EIT Palmina, and transported to Rotterdam where it will be discharged directly on to the project's cable installation vessel.
The delivery is expected to be completed by the end of January, 2014.
