October 19 - The Danish Clipper Group has confirmed the sale of 16 ships, including its last four 17,500 dwt multipurpose carriers, as part of a financial restructuring agreement.
Confirming the sale, Emma Wahlberg, group communication officer for Clipper, also advised that the multipurpose ships that have been sold remain in Clipper's technical management, whilst the 12 bulk carriers remain under Clipper's commercial and technical control.
HLPFI readers will recall that the Clipper Group, which operates a fleet of handysize and supramax vessels, transporting a range of cargo from dry bulk to breakbulk, merged its Clipper Projects multipurpose division with Thorco Shipping in 2013, and that it now trades under the Thorco Shipping brand name.
