It comes amidst CLdN’s projected volume growth on its North Sea connection between Killingholme and its terminals in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and Zeebrugge, Belgium.

Cargo handling operations will be reconfigured to optimise the flow of freight through the terminal. With this, handling and storage capacity for trailers and all types of cargo will be increased.

With a firm eye on both operational efficiency and cutting emissions, CLdN will also bring in five electric rubber tyred gantry (RTG) cranes to replace some of its existing fleet of diesel-powered reach stacker vehicles.

“Killingholme is an important hub connecting the North of England with mainland Europe and our ambition is to further grow this corridor in the coming years,” said Florent Maes, ceo of CLdN.

In February 2025, CLdN began offering a pooling service to allow shipping industry stakeholders to meet more rigorous EU environmental regulations.
