September 10 - CLdN RoRo is to add 12 new vessels to existing fleet of 24 ro-ro ships.
Amongst others, orders have been placed for two 235 m long vessels, each with a capacity of 8,000 lane metres. The first of the 12 new vessels are due to enter service in the third quarter of 2017.
CLdN RoRo says that its expansion programme will enable the company to broaden its range of services, as well as grow capacity on existing routes.
In addition to the new vessels, CLdN subsidiary and port operator C.RO is to invest an estimated EUR100 million (USD111.8 million) on the expansion of its terminals, in order to cater for the next-generation vessels.
