April 28 - South Korean shipowner, Chung Yang Shipping has taken delivery of its second 15,000 dwt module carrier.
CY Interocean II joins the first module carrier CY Interocean I, which entered service last year.
Both ships have identical specifications, featuring an overall length of 152 m, breadth of 40 m, free deck area of 5,000 sq m and deck load capability of 20 tonnes/sq m. Their service speed is 11.5 knots.
Chung Yang Shipping is one of several shipping companies that have been subcontracted by China's Cosco Shipping to assist with a major transportation and logistics contract that it was awarded by a large Kazakhstani oil and gas partnership last year, as HLPFI reported here.
