August 10 - Chipolbrok's third newbuild heavy lift vessel, Chipolbrok Atlantic, is set to make its maiden call at the Port of Hamburg's C. Steinweg terminal at the end of September.
HLPFI reported on July 15 that Chipolbrok had decided to nominate C. Steinweg as its new Hamburg terminal, in light of the upcoming closure of the Buss Hansa Terminal.
Chipolbrok Atlantic is the third newbuilding in a four-vessel order, which will be completed with the delivery of Paderewski to the shipping line from Shanghai Shipyard later this year.
Meanwhile, two of Chipolbrok's older vessels - Wieniawski and Szymanowski - are preparing to be scrapped after many years in service.
Chipolbrok stressed that it does not intend to bloat further an already oversaturated market with its new general cargo vessels, but is purely creating replacements for older tonnage, which is gradually being scrapped.
