July 25 - C.H. Robinson Project Logistics has transported two tanks, weighing a total of 86.2 tonnes, for a mine construction project in Saskatchewan, Canada from Biggar to Bethune.
The operation required extensive permit negotiation with the Saskatchewan highway authorities and detailed coordination with the provincial power company, which accompanied each load, explained C.H. Robinson.
During the movement of the second load, a severe winter storm ensued, which caused the truck and trailer to pull off the highway and warning barricades had to be set up.
The larger tank weighed in at 43.7 tonnes and had the dimensions 16.6 m x 9.2 m x 9.3 m.
