December 29 - Lift & Shift has completed the delivery of 100 modules for Zadco's Upper Zakum oilfield project in Abu Dhabi and Petrofac's Rabab Harweel Integrated Project (RHIP) in Oman.
Lift & Shift began loading out and transporting the modules - which comprised of pre-assembled modules (PAM) and pre-assembled racks - in November 2015 and completed the project this month.
Ranging in length from 20 m to 65 m and in width from 6 m to 12 m, the units were delivered to the offshore sites in 14 barge trips and nine journeys by heavy lift vessel.
Lift & Shift explained that there were a number of challenges involved in the moves, including two heavy modules that had to be loaded out in extremely hot weather conditions during the summer.
Moreover, said the company, the modules had to be moved from the fabrication area to the quay through an extremely tight yard layout. Load spreaders were used to facilitate the handling of the oversize units and reduce the lifting operations.
