October 20 - Beluga Shipping has been involved in the movement of hugh cement mill components from China to Brazil.
Two 20 m, 189-tonne tube-like parts for Votarantim Cimentos, one of the Brazil´s biggest cement producers were transported to the quayside at the Chinese port of Tingjang using two 12-axle flatbed trailers.
Beluga Mumbai's own 400-tonne capacity cranes were not troubled by this lift. To secure the cargo during the 10,000 nautical mile journey, the components were stowed in steel racks welded to the floor of the ship's cargo hold. Wire ropes on the outside of each shell assembly helped to prevent movement during the voyage.
After discharging the components in Imbituba, Brazil, Beluga Mumbai proceeded to the Brazilian ports of Vitoria andNatal.
