December 29 - A leading Asian coal supplier has contracted WPC Marine & Offshore Services (WPCMOS) to assemble, transport and install a 600 tonne Continous Barge Unloader (CBU) to Bontang, Kalimantan, Indonesia.
WPCMOS, a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts Network (CEE), has organised the transport of fabricated steel structures from China and major electrical components from Germany to its yard in Batam for assembly.
Followinf a six month assembly programmes, the completed module was loaded onto a specially designed 85 m submersible barge and towed to Bontang.
WPCMOS says that the CBU, which is pictured below on the barge, is the first ever to be assembled and installed in Indonesia.
