November 22 - CEA Project Logistics has launched a USD2 million, 32-tonne catamaran using its 10 axle line hydraulic trailer and two 65-tonne mobile cranes, on the eastern seaboard of Thailand.
Initially advised that the weight of the catamaran was between 15 and 18 tonnes, CEA's port captain soon realised that was an under-estimate once the cranes began lifting and it was required to use Modulift spreader bars and soft slings to carry out the lift safely.
A smaller vessel was launched by CEA a few weeks later, and the company expects to launch two more catamarans before the new year.
