Combined Cargo Terminals (CCT) in the Netherlands has ordered a Konecranes Gottwald ESP.7 mobile harbour crane (MHC) in order to meet rising cargo demands and more ambitious CO2 emission targets.
Booked in Q1 2025 and expected to be delivered to CCT’s Moerdijk terminal in Q3 2025, the ESP.7 MHC has a 51 m working radius. CCT can reduce fuel consumption as the MHC comes with an external power supply that connects to the grid.
“This latest crane gives us the visibility, reach and speed we need for serving the larger size of vessels increasingly calling at the terminal,” said Luc Smits, managing director of CCT.
CCT’s Moerdijk terminal, given its location between Rotterdam and Antwerp, serves as an trimodal hub to combine rail, road and water transport in Europe.
Earlier this month, HLPFI reported that Konecranes had taken an order for a pair of ESP.9 MHCs from BMF and had expanded in Spain.
