July 26 - CEA Project Logistics has transported a catamaran ferry, weighing 17 tonnes and measuring 17 m in length, from Chonburi, Thailand to Freetown in Sierra Leone.
The ferry, which was moored at the Ocean Marina Yacht Club in Chonburi, was lifted from the water via a straddle carrier and loaded onto a bespoke fabricated frame, which was attached to a standard low-bed trailer.
Due to height restrictions on Thailand's roads, the top section of the ferry was removed, loaded and secured with ratchet straps on a separate trailer for transport to the CEA facility in Laem Chabang.
After the 33 km journey to the CEA free trade zone, the vessel was held in storage prior to being loaded on board Ocean7 Projects' vessel Atlantic Dawn.
Stevedoring teams executed the loading and stowage at Laem Chabang port, while CEA provided the necessary shipping and Customs documents for the export to Sierra Leone.
CEA Project Logistics is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Thailand.
