February 23 - As part of the two airlines' cooperation agreement, Cargolux and Oman Air have introduced two weekly flights to Mumbai, with effect from March 8, 2016.
The flights to Mumbai will complement the service that Cargolux and Oman Air launched to Chennai in August 2015 after signing a cooperation deal in April last year.
The first Mumbai service will operate from Luxembourg to Mumbai via Bahrain and Muscat; while the second will call at Kuwait and Oman Air's Muscat hub.
Oman Air's chief operating officer, Abdulrahman Al Busaidy, said: "Our product advantages include the carriage of project cargo, livestock, cargo aircraft-only freight, odd size cargo, vehicles and aircraft engines."
"With India's growing importance as a manufacturing nation, we see a lot of future potential and possibilities for both our companies," added Cargolux executive vice president of sale and marketing, Niek van der Weide.
