September 8 - Turkish transport company Caba has used a PowerMAX modular vehicle from Faymonville to transport the 100-year-old cruiser Halas 71 within Turkey's RMK Shipyard.
The Halas 71, which was built in Glasgow in 1914 as a passenger ferry, was first refitted in 1984 as a motor yacht and again by its new owners in 2009. The boat is now being used for private charters on the southern and western coasts of Turkey.
Caba used Faymonville's self-propelled heavy load transport module PowerMAX to transport the 400-tonne boat, which measures 52 m long.
Faymonville explained that its PowerMAX modular vehicles feature hydraulically driven axles, which are ideal for use when conventional heavy load tractor units no longer have sufficient pulling force to move extremely heavy loads.
