September 28 - The Port of Longview, located on the US west cost, has discharged six oversize brewing tanks using its Liebherr mobile harbour crane.
Stevedoring crews from ILWU Local 21 discharged the tanks, each weighing 21 tonnes, from Star Harmonica onto Mafi trailers stationed at the quayside. The tanks were reloaded on bespoke trailers to complete their journey from the Port of Antwerp in Belgium, to Bend, Oregon.
"This operation fully utilised the cargo handling benefits the port has to offer," said port's business development manager Laurie Nelson-Cooley. "Our facilities, equipment and experienced workforce make the Port of Longview an ideal location for handling project cargo such as this."
