Broekman Logistics has taken delivery of a Konecranes Gottwald Model 4 mobile harbour crane at its multipurpose terminal at the port of Rotterdam.

The Multipurpose Distriport Terminal is situated in the Botlek area of the port and specialises in breakbulk and container handling. The G HMK 4406 variant of the Konecranes mobile harbour crane was delivered in mid-February and commissioned in early March.

The electrically driven crane can handling up to 100 tons (90.7 tonnes) and has a working radius up to 46 m.

Going forward, Konecranes expects the installation of new equipment at customer sites to be impacted by the Covid-19 crisis and the restrictions put in place to limit the spread of the pandemic – many of the manufacturer’s clients are restricting access to their premises.

Konecranes’ own operations are also impacted by the worldwide measures to contain the pandemic and the company expects it to have an affect on demand for its products and services, particularly in the first half of the year. “As the situation is evolving quickly it is too early to make reasoned estimates that quantify this impact,” said Konecranes.
