February 18 - The Port of Charleston handled 68,499 tonnes of breakbulk cargo in January, with volumes nearly 33 percent ahead of planned fiscal year-to-date levels.
The South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) recorded overall breakbulk cargo volumes of 727,360 tonnes in January, which it says remains slightly ahead of plan.
Meanwhile, SCPA reported almost a 5 percent increase in container volumes since its fiscal year began in July 2015.
145,092 teu were moved through SCPA's gateways in January, with fiscal year-to-date volumes reaching 1.12 million teu.
