April 8 - Turkish transport and logistics services provider Borusan Logistik has ordered a Scheuerle rotor blade adapter, which is designed to transport wind turbine blades under difficult conditions.
Mounted on a quick-release plate, the rotor blade can be positioned at an angle of 70 degrees, pivoted and rotated around its own axis in order to avoid any obstacles, explained Scheuerle.
The system is equipped with a counterweight and calculates its position automatically to ensure stability during operation, added the manufacturer.
The adapter is mounted on eight axle lines of Scheuerle-Kamag K25 modules and will be on display at the TII Group stand at the bauma 2016 exhibition in Munich next week.
With blades becoming even longer, Scheuerle says that its rotor blade adapters can be used to manoeuvre unitsmeasuring up to 80 m long when space is limited.
