September 25 - According to media in Hong Kong and China, three Boeing 747-400 freighters are about to be publicly auctioned on Taobao, the shopping platform of China's e-commerce giant Alibaba.
The reports indicate that the auction will open on November 20, with a starting price ranging from CNY123 million to CNY135 million yuan (USD18.58 million to USD20.39 million) each.
The freighters were owned by Jade Cargo International, the joint venture between Shenzhen Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo that was founded in 2004, but then later filed for bankruptcy.
HLPFI understands that the three aircraft have been put up for auction offline six times since October 2015 but failed to find buyers.
