July 13 - BNSF Logistics has transported three cryogenic tanks, each weighing 109 tonnes, from Natchez, Mississippi to a plant in Ashtabula, Ohio.
From the factory in Natchez, the tanks - each of which measured 40.2 m x 5.2 m x 5.5 m - were first transported by road to a barge dock in Mississippi, before being loaded onto three hopper barges and delivered to Burns Harbor, Indiana.
At Burns Harbor, the three oversize tanks were transferred onto deck barges and shipped via the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway System to the Kinder Morgan terminal in Ashtabula, before being transferred onto trailers and trucked to the site.
BNSF Logistics is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for the USA.
