April 29 - BNSF Logistics has coordinated the shipment of a press bolster, weighing 220,000 lb (99.7 tonnes), from a factory in Ontario, Canada to Houston, USA.
BNSF Rail Logistics in Canada and BNSF Logistics' Global Project Centre in Houston worked together to deliver the unit, which measured 27 ft x 13.2 ft x 5.4 ft (8.2 m x 4 m x 1.6 m), from Windsor to Houston's Texas Terminals by rail.
The oversize cargo was lifted onto a 12-axle platform trailer in Ontario before being loaded and lashed onto a railcar and making its way to Houston via the CN and BNSF railways.
On arrival at Texas Terminals, the load was lifted onto a Goldhofer trailer and moved another 100 miles (160 km) by road to the job site.
BNSF Logistics is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for the USA.
