April 14 - The Houston Global Project Center (GPC) of BNSF Logistics (BNSFL) has managed the shipment of six cable reels with a total weight of 184,000 lbs (83.46 tonnes) from Europe to a private jetty at the Jensen Beach, FL Power Plant in the USA.
The reels were loaded in Antwerp on Spliethoff's Slotergracht for the voyage to the port of Palm Beach in Florida, USA, where they were discharged directly to a barge and transported to Jensen Beach.
The cable will be spooled off the reel onto the bottom of the intra-coastal waterway from the power plant on the island to the mainland and are replacing the overhead cables that are currently used.
BNSF Logistics is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for the USA.
