The port of Blyth in the UK has signed an agreement with international heavy lift and engineered transport specialist Mammoet that will see the latter base a 600-tonne capacity LR 1600 crawler crane at the port’s South Harbour terminal.
The addition of Mammoet’s crawler crane will increase the port’s heavy lift capability from 120 tonnes to 600 tonnes.
The move will, according to the port, guarantee its customers and partners increased capacity, flexibility and efficiency in relation to their heavy lift requirements, while reducing mobilisation costs.
