September 2 - Azerbaijani project cargo forwarder Blue Water is undertaking a year-long project to supply vital rock-crushing machinery to the country's ore extraction industry from the US.
Blue Water, which is a Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) member for Azerbaijan, is transporting rock crushing machinery for a local client in Azerbaijan; volumes are around 1,400 cbm per plant. The cargo has been controlled by Blue Water Baku with assistance from Blue Water Georgia and Blue Water Houston.
The crushing machinery was bought by a local company in Azerbaijan from different US vendors in South Dakota, Oregon and Pennsylvania. The largest shipment, which took place in May, saw 110 dump trucks, 12 tractors and 14 crushing machines. The goods were picked up at three different areas in the US and transported to the port of Galveston to meet a ro-ro ship, which carried the units to Poti in Georgia for on-carriage to Baku in Azerbaijan.
