September 16 - Blue Water Shipping has loaded two hull sections, weighing a total of 10,800 tonnes, in Singapore destined for Azerbaijan's Baku Shipyard.
HLPFI reported on April 29, 2015 that Blue Water had signed a contract with the Azerbaijan yard covering the transport of the two sections from Singapore.
The hull sections will be shipped through the Suez Canal and Black Sea onboard an OHT semi-submersible vessel, before transiting Russia's Volga-Don river system and its locks to arrive in the Caspian Sea.
"The loading operations went as planned in Singapore, where the sections were towed onto a waiting semi-submersible vessel using tugs," said project manager Lars Skov Christensen.
The sections, each measuring 140 m x 16 m x 17 m, will eventually form the hull of the subsea construction vessel (SCV) Khankendi, which will be deployed in the Shah Deniz field offshore Azerbaijan.
