Anaklia Development Consortium (ADC) is investing USD2.5 billion to develop a deepsea port at Anaklia, Georgia.
Van Oord, which was appointed by ADC to develop the first phase of the port, has selected Blue Water Shipping as its local freight forwarding agent. Blue Water’s role in the project includes vessel agency services, port handling and stevedoring, crew change, Customs services and local deliveries.
The port construction project will be divided into nine phases. Pre-construction works started in 2016; the first phase of the project is scheduled for completion by 2021. On completion, the gateway will be capable of handling 10,000 teu vessels.
