Finnlines, part of the Grimaldi Group, has added a port call in Norway to its Biscay service between Bilbao, Spain and St. Petersburg, Russia.
According to Uniport Bilbao, the service will call at the port of Fredrikstad. On the northbound route, the service will now call in Zeebrugge and Antwerp in Belgium; Teesport, Tilbury and Hull in the UK; Gothenburg, Sweden; Fredrikstad; Paldiski, Estonia; Helsinki and Kotka in Finland; and St. Petersburg.
The con-ro ships deployed on the service are Finnsky, Finnsea and Finnbreeze. Uniport Bilbao added that these vessels are capable of handling general cargo, containers, ro-ro and heavy lift loads weighing up to 220 tonnes.
The port authority added that heavy and oversized loads in Bilbao are handled by stevedoring company Toro y Betolaza.
