April 25 - Californian crane dealer Bigge Crane and Rigging has purchased four new Liebherr LR1300SX crawler cranes at Bauma 2013 trade fair in Munich.
The 300-tonne capacity crawler comes equipped with a main boom of 393 ft (119.8 m), plus an innovative derrick system incorporating a suspended counterweight for stability when lifting extreme loads.
For easier transportation between jobsites, the LR1300SX track can be compacted from 8 m to just less than 5 m.
Bigge now has more than 24 of the LR1300SX cranes in its rental fleet. It is ideally suited for wind tower installation as its luffing jib is between 20-40 percent larger than other cranes in its class, according to Bigge.
The crane is available for rental from Bigge's US hubs in Houston, San Leandro, Los Angeles and Richmond, Virginia.
