December 22 - Bergé Marítima has invested in a new mobile harbour crane for its terminal in the Port of Bilbao.
Bergé Marítima says that the new crane will strengthen its operational capacity in the Spanish port, as well as improve its versatility in handling various types of cargoes.
With a lifting capacity of 144 tonnes and a reach of between 11 and 54 m, the mobile harbour crane is capable of lifting heavy project cargo, general cargo, bulk cargo and containers.
Despite the new crane's capacity for handling various goods, Bergé Marítima explained that it was prompted to invest in the model due to a number of new heavy lift projects in the pipeline.
The crane was shipped to Bilbao from Germany on board the vessel Stortebeker, which is operated by Briese Chartering.
