July 31 - Bengal Electric Ltd (BEL) has become the newest addition to the Project Cargo Network (PCN), representing Bangladesh.
Having been established for over 35 years, BEL now employs more than 300 staff across three offices - two in Dhaka in one in Munshiganj.
BEL's services focus on the petrochemical industry, civil projects, power plant facilities, offshore and marine projects. It has its own dedicated fleet of heavy duty equipment including barges ranging from 250-3,000 tonnes, tugboats, crawler cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 500 tonnes, and floating cranes capable of lifting 1,000 tonnes.
BEL was recently contracted by Youth Group, a local power plant owner, to transport six engines each weighing 110 tonnes and six 30-tonne alternators between Mongla Port and Ashuganj.
