October 3 - BBC Chartering's vessel BBC Balboa has played a part in the installation of a 14.4 km, 16 inch subsea pipeline for the Greater Western Flank Gas Development, which is located on Australia's North West Shelf.
During the installation works, which were handled by Technip's pipeline installation vessel G1201 and assisted by a platform supply vessel, offshore storage also needed to be provides, and BBC Balboa was one of the employed vessels assigned to this task.
BBC said that the selected 8,000 dwt vessel proved to be right choice, due to its sufficient lifting capacity, which ensured safe loading operations for pipe transfers onto the platform supply vessel.
The Greater Western Flank Gas Development, which is located approximately 140 km from Karratha, will feed the Karratha Gas Plant (KPH) to process raw dehydrated gas and export LNG, condensate and LPG, together with conditioned gas.
