November 18 - BBC Chartering's heavy lift vessel BBC Brisbane has shipped a consignment of building material and equipment to Nunavut, Canada for the Hope Bay gold mine project.
The Hope Bay project is an undeveloped greenstone belt with great prospects, claims BBC. It is located in the Nunavut Territory, approximately 685 km northwest of Yellowknife and 125 km southwest of Cambridge Bay.
The 8,000 dwt general cargo ship BBC Brisbane provides a high ice class and has a maximum lifting capacity of 160 tonnes.
BBC says that this transportation project successfully demonstrated its ability to prepare for and perform special destination projects, and adds to the carrier's Arctic project track record.
