October 14 - BBC Chartering's 166 m long heavy lift vessel, BBC Spring, has shipped four rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) from Phu My in Vietnam to the Chilean port of San Antonio.
The RTGs, each of which weighed around 200 tonnes, were loaded using BBC Spring's own cranes, which are able to lift loads of up to 800 tonnes.
The new RTGs were ordered after two of the port of San Antonio's major terminal operators - STI and Puerto Central - decided to invest into the expansion of the gateway's cargo handling capacities.
