September 8 - Bahri Logistics' 26,000 dwt multipurpose ro-ro vessel, Bahri Yanbu, has called at the Port of New Orleans (Port Nola), USA marking the commencement of its ro-con service connecting the port with the Mediterranean, Middle East and India.
Bahri Yanbu arrived at the Nashville Avenue Terminal Complex, which is operated by Ports America. The service, which will call at the port every 24 days, is scheduled to return in late October.
"The return of a ro-ro service to the Port of New Orleans - for the first time since 2005 - helps us meet the diverse needs of the marketplace and increases our global competitiveness," said Brandy Christian, Port of New Orleans president and ceo.
"The Bahri ships are flexible, state-of-the-art vessels that can simultaneously accommodate project, ro-ro, breakbulk and container cargo. We expect shippers will be pleased with its flexibility and efficiency."
