April 28 - Nine oversize autoclave components have been loaded on board MSC Hamburg at Eurogate Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven for shipment to Shanghai.
The overall oversize transport was organised by freight forwarder Dachser, while Eurogate's sister company SWOP Seaworthy Packing assisted with the loading and securing of the nine units - each of which had a diameter of 6.8 m - onto the ship at the Eurogate terminal.
Despite the width of the pieces, Eurogate explained that the transport to the terminal went smoothly due to the port's direct motorway access.
"Not every location is suitable for the shipment of heavy and oversized cargo," said SWOP ceo Max Schultz. "In Wilhelmshaven it was easily implemented."
