For a number of years, ASCO has delivered similar long-term contracts for Centrica Energy Upstream and Nexenprior and up to the award of these new contracts. Significantly, the new Centrica Energy Upstream contract now also covers support to Centrica's Northern North Sea drilling operations for the first time, in addition to its Southern North Sea drilling operations. ASCO Has confirmed that the contracts will include quayside logistics, including heavy lift moves.

John Little, managing director of ASCO's UK and Central Europe business, commented on the recent awards: "These contract awards are testament to the long-standing relationships we have developed with Centrica Energy Upstream and Nexen in the UK and we look forward to providing them with the same safe, efficient and collaborative logistics service as we go forward with the delivery of these new contracts."

The two Nexen contracts are for 'offshore logistics and shore base services' and 'marine gas oil'. They are together valued at around GBP19 million (USD29 million) per annum and are in support of Nexen's operations within the Central and Northern North Sea.

The contracts both have a four year term with a further two two-year extension options. They will be managed by ASCO's established operations team in Peterhead and ASCO's Fuel & Lubricants division in Peterhead and Aberdeen.

The 'offshore logistics and shore base services' contract covers the provision of materials management, logistics management, storage & warehousing, marine services, waste management and transport services. The 'marine gas oil' contract covers the provision of marine gas oil (MGO) to Nexen chartered vessels.

The Centrica contract is valued at around GBP5 million (USD7 million) per annum. It has a three year term with two one-year extension options and covers the provision of logistics management, transport, waste management, fuel and port services and will be managed by teams at ASCO's established quayside operational bases in Great Yarmouth, Aberdeen and Peterhead, as well as other UK ports as required.
