April 25 - Aqualis Offshore has been contracted by South Korean Oceanus to provide floatover services for an LNG regasification platform topside offshore Bahrain.
Oceanus is in charge of the transportation and installation contract on behalf of its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, GS E&C.
Oceanus will transport the 7,000-tonne topside from Laem Chabang, Thailand, to its final destination at the LNG terminal location in Bahrain.
The scope of work for Aqualis Offshore's subcontract includes the provision of project management services, specialist floatover engineering, and supervision for load-out and floatover installation operations.
The new facilities will include a fixed platform for unloading LNG carriers, a newbuild FSU (floating storage unit) and an onshore receiving facility.
