June 8 - Antonov Airlines has transported two mining filtration units for Hunt & Palmer Cargo Charters from Santiago, Chile to Mendoza, Argentina on board one of its seven AN-124-100 aircraft.
The cargo, which weighed a total of 24 tonnes, included two large industrial piping filtration units, measuring 12 m x 4 m x 3.6 m.
According to Dan Litten, aircraft charter broker, Hunt & Palmer Cargo Charters, "the flight was needed as the road conditions in the region were too hazardous due to adverse weather."
The AN-124 utilised its on-board crane system, which has a maximum lift capacity of 20 tonnes, to load and unload the cargo, with the flight taking 39 minutes.
