October 26 - ALS' project team in the UK has handled the shipment of materials, oversized equipment and containers, from over ten countries, to an incinerator plant in Hull, UK.
Over a six month period, ALS coordinated the loading and offloading operations in Turkey, USA, Poland, Denmark and the UK.
The ALS teams provided private escort vehicles, ship agency services, and handled the operations at the port and on site.
ALS charted BBC Chartering's vessel BBC Sapphire to ship the largest breakbulk units, which amounted to over 600 tonnes, from the USA to Hull.
The five largest units were transported by road to their final destination attended by ALS' project manager and escorted by ALS' permit and escort manager.
Earlier this week, HLPFI reported that UK-based Collett & Sons utilised its Enerpac jack-up system to install the Siemens steam turbine and generator at the plant.
The facility, which covers 12 acres (4.86 ha), is scheduled to be operational from November 2017.
