August 1 - The US arm of Dubai-based logistics company GAC has formed a strategic alliance with a 30-year old shipping agency based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Philadelphia-based GAC USA has formed an alliance with Wightman Shipping which will operate as GAC-Wightman Shipping, offering shipping services across north eastern and mid-Atlantic ports in Philadelphia, New York and Baltimore.
Wightman Shipping was established in 1983. In addition to ships agency, it provides specialised services such as spares delivery, crew changes and bunker supplies.
GAC Shipping is a major player in ship and hub agency services, representing more than 3,500 principals and handles more than 50,000 vessels annually. In addition to ship/hub agency services, GAC Shipping is an experienced provider of bunker supplies, ship-to-ship transfers, with GAC Marine, canal transits and ship supply services. It also acts as correspondent for most International group P&I clubs.
